Who we are
This website is operated by Tom Wikeley, trading as Tom the Chiropractor, GCC registration number 05268, based at The Work Lounge, 1 Beehive Lane, Loughborough, LE11 2FJ. If you have any questions about this policy or how your information is handled, email hello@tomthechiropractor.co.uk.
Information collected through this website
When you use the online booking system, your name, contact details and appointment information are collected and processed by our booking provider, PracticeHub, in order to schedule and manage your appointment. When you message us via WhatsApp, your phone number and message content are handled by WhatsApp under its own privacy policy.
If you complete an intake form ahead of your first appointment, the health and contact information you provide is used solely to prepare for and deliver your care, and is kept as part of your clinical record in line with our professional obligations as a GCC-registered chiropractor.
If you use the contact form on this site, the name, email address, phone number and message you submit are passed to our form provider, Web3Forms, which delivers them to us by email. They are used only to reply to your enquiry. Please keep contact form messages general rather than describing your symptoms or medical history in detail, as this route isn't intended for sharing clinical information.
The desk check
The desk check is a self-assessment of how your workstation is set up. Your answers are scored in your browser, and nothing is sent anywhere unless you choose to have your results emailed to you.
If you do ask for your results, the name and email address you give us, your answers and your score are sent to our email provider, Resend, which delivers one copy to you and one copy to the clinic. We use them to send your results and to reply if you get in touch about them. We won't add you to a mailing list.
One question asks, optionally, whether you notice discomfort anywhere. That's health information, so we only collect it if you choose to answer, and we ask for your explicit consent before anything is sent. You can skip that question and still get your score. If you'd like your desk check details deleted, reply to the results email or contact us and we'll remove them.
The desk check is a guide to how your desk is set up. It isn't a diagnosis, and it isn't a substitute for being assessed properly.
Analytics
With your consent, this site uses Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how visitors use the site, so we can improve it. This involves cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for details, including how to change your choice at any time.
How we use your information
- To book, manage and remind you of appointments
- To provide safe and appropriate chiropractic care, including keeping accurate clinical records
- To respond to enquiries sent by email or WhatsApp
- To understand and improve how this website is used, where you've given analytics consent
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep your information
Clinical records are retained in line with General Chiropractic Council and NHS records-retention guidance, which generally means keeping adult patient records for a minimum of 8 years after the last treatment. Booking and enquiry information not linked to an ongoing clinical record is kept only as long as needed for that purpose.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct inaccurate information, and in some circumstances to ask us to delete it or restrict how it's used. To make a request, email hello@tomthechiropractor.co.uk.
If you're unhappy with how your information has been handled, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page.
